Casa Menta sits in the heart of Calle 59, one of the most storied streets inside Campeche's walled city. The space moves through several registers — restaurant, bar, live music venue, and what might generously be called a speakeasy — without any of them feeling forced. The patio and garden at its centre give the whole place a quality of enclosure and discovery.
Accommodation is available on the courtyard balcony, which positions Casa Menta as more than a place to eat and drink — it's a place to actually stay inside the historic centre, steps from everything and removed from the noise of it. The team here have built something deliberately unhurried, and it shows in how they receive people.
