Open Table. A cacao ceremony, guided meditation, light yoga, and a shared meal — held inside the courtyard and secret garden of a historic house in Campeche's walled city. Available at 10:00am and 4:00pm.
Cacao has been part of this region for thousands of years — not as a flavour, but as a practice. A way of opening attention, slowing the breath, and arriving somewhere more present than you were before. This experience is built around that tradition, held inside a space that was made for exactly this kind of encounter.
The morning begins at Puerta del Mar with a short walk to Casa Menta — a 16th-century house in the heart of the historic centre. On the way, your guide traces the relationship between Campeche, cacao, movement, and the spiritual practices that have shaped life here. By the time you arrive, the frame is already set.
Inside the main courtyard — centred on an old stone well — Mayis performs an aura cleansing with Llama Guardiana — a sacred herb blend whose smoke is drawn around each person to clear energy and open the spirit for what follows. A threshold ritual. Then the group moves through to the secret garden for the ceremony itself: ceremonial grade cacao, a guided meditation, and a grounding practice that uses the cacao to open the heart before the body follows.
The yoga with Pétalos de Shakti continues what the ceremony started — movement as integration, not exercise. The body catches up with what the cacao opened. Then the group returns to the courtyard. Paco and the Casa Menta team are waiting. The table is set — and it deserves its moment. After everything the morning has opened, sitting down to eat together in that courtyard is not a footnote. It is the point. The food, the space, the people around the table — all of it earned by what came before.
